Daval International is progressing a portfolio of 7 patent applications. Within this portfolio, a number of patents have already been granted.
Daval is advised by Marks & Clerk, a leading international patent agent and 16 patents have been granted. Daval is the exclusive licensee for these patent inventions in 9 countries/regions around the world, namely Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China, Singapore, Mexico, Nigeria, the AIPO/OAPI (African Intellectual Property Organisation) and Eurasia.
Achieving patents is a long process, running over a number of years. There is a nominal 12 month period from patent filing to its examination, which also establishes the patent's Priority Date. On conclusion of examination, the patent is published (so that its contents then become publicly available) and it then moves into its International Phase. It then reverts to the National Phase, where the national examiner in each country where a patent is sought considers the application. The European Patent Office has recently indicated that it is favourably viewing grant of patent for two applications.
The conditions covered by the patents span important diseases in both human and veterinary therapeutic domains.
Daval is the exclusive licensee of the AIMSPRO trade mark and the CEREMBEN veterinary trade mark.
